once upon a time a boy saw a girl.  he asked her to go get lime bars.  she said yes.  he was a viking and she was dutch.  but this didn’t stop them.  eventually they fell in love, got married, became the H’s, bought a house in the mountains and had a little dutch-viking hybrid.

then they decided that some sort of modern narritive of life in general [l.i.g], preferably in the digital format, may be in order.

(little dutch-viking hybrids tend to make these things necessary.)

so here is an attempt to capture l.i.g in all it’s wonderful, wild, blessed, busy, changing, challenging gusto.

Catch-up...

Whoopsies...it's been a month since my last post.  At least I have good excuses: flu times two (Peter and I); work on the house and my family came to visit for 9 days! Fun times minus the flu.  I did manage to bust out the camera a bit, so here's a little pictoral summary of the last 30 days...

Aida Ann turned 6 months old!  Loving the exer-saucer.
First time swimming - it was a hit :)
Daddy picked out my suit!
It was a liiiiiiittle bit chilly...
We brought along her favorite bath toy, Mr. Whale, to help with the transition
Post-swim play time with Mimi
My big girl!  I love her :)
Mom and Linnea DROVE all the way here!  They brought out the rest of my stuff from home.  We were so spoiled to have them here for 9 days over Memorial week!  One of our first stops was Garden of the Gods, of course.
Linnea wanted to do the Incline.  Being the supportive sister I am, I obliged.  We bailed before the top and neither of us felt remotely bad.
Aida and Mommy entertaining themselves outside the Celestial Seasoning Factory while Oma and Aunt Linnea took the tour (no kiddos under 5 allowed).  Afterwards we had an oh-so-yummy lunch on Pearle Street in Boulder.
Only our third night out since Aida was born!  We went to one of our favs, Nosh, for delish tapas and white sangria.  Yum!
Sweet Aunt Linnea and her little niecey :)
Mom brought along her green thumb and REALLY helped spruce up our yard!  It's so nice to have a little color out there - thanks, Oma!
Peter pulled some strings and got us in to hike the Punch Bowls last minute.  Here's Dad and his girls at the waterfall on the way up.
Forging the wild rapids
Punch Bowl!  They were a little cold - only Dad got in
Mom and her girls enjoying the afterglow of end-of-the-hike PB & J, yum :)
Random pictures of Aida sleeping - it warms my heart like none other :)  Notice her rocking the Sea Pines tie-dyed onsie I made last year.  She is so ready for her first Hilton Head trip.
Most morning when Aida wakes up, Peter gets her and I nurse her in bed before we get going for the day.  Sometimes we fall asleep again.  On this particular day, she was OUT.  Peter and I got out of bed, ate bfast, got ready for church - she snoozed through it all.  We got her up just in time to throw her dress on and head out the door.  At church we had the privilege of having Aida dedicated.  We received a wonderful charge as parents and prayed over Aida.  It was so great to have the support of both of our families :)
Cuddle time with Opa :)
Out to dinner on Memorial Day
Telling Oma all about how she feels (the necklace Aida is wearing has been worn by my mom, myself and now Aida for our dedications)

:)
The day after my family left, we welcomed a new nephew into the world : Josiah James!
We got to tag along with Daddy to Breck last week.  It was bea-u-ti-ful!  I love living such a short drive from so many amazing places.
First taste of ice cream....
Success!
Walking off our delish lunch at Kenosha
Family :)

Annnnnnd we're all caught up!
