once upon a time a boy saw a girl.  he asked her to go get lime bars.  she said yes.  he was a viking and she was dutch.  but this didn’t stop them.  eventually they fell in love, got married, became the H’s, bought a house in the mountains and had a little dutch-viking hybrid.

then they decided that some sort of modern narritive of life in general [l.i.g], preferably in the digital format, may be in order.

(little dutch-viking hybrids tend to make these things necessary.)

so here is an attempt to capture l.i.g in all it’s wonderful, wild, blessed, busy, changing, challenging gusto.

Copper 2K10

Well, we are back to reality after a relaxing not-too-far get-away to our favorite, Copper Mountain. Lots of family walks, yummy food, quality couch cuddle time, hot tub soaks (not for Aida) and good conversation. Unfortunately, snow was less than plentiful until about 4 o'clock yesterday.  Good times were had none the less, even if there was more skating than skiing down the mountain.  Peter and I were both thankful for the opportunity to break away with our little family :)

Highlights:
- Aida has been sleeping in her car seat since we brought her home, so we decided to use a more relaxed few days to experiment with "flat" night sleeping - and she did beautifully!  YAY!  She will now be sleeping in her room in her crib full time, such a big girl.  I am a little sad not have her right next to me at night, but super thankful that the transition from our little sleep "crutch", aka car seat, was so easy!
- Slope side eating, specifically deep-fried pickle spears.  Need I say more?
- The awesome beauty of Creation as viewed from 12,000ft!
- Aida's hot pink snow suit popping out of the Baby Bjorn as Peter packed her around.  Favorite question from a stranger:  "Is there a real baby in there?".  Seriously?
- Our super cute, cozy condo
- Frequent viewings of the Toyota Sienna "Swagger Wagon" commercial.  Love it.
- 4 straight days with my sweet family :)
